A good week on the bike
Kids spend most of the day riding. Coaches add short lessons when they are useful, then the group tries the skill on the trail.
The group rides loops and routes suited to the camp they chose.
Short lessons cover braking, balance, body position and trail control.
Water and snack stops are built in. Full-day riders also get a proper lunch break.
The people leading the ride
Our coaches are skilled mountain bikers who ride often, are trained in first aid and know how to teach skills at the right level for each rider.
Before summer starts, our coaches complete a training day together. They review how mornings run, how to lead each group and what to do if a rider needs help.
Your coach can share how the day went and let you know if there is anything to bring, fix or practise for tomorrow.
Arrive ready
We check every bike and helmet before riding on Monday. If either is not safe, the rider cannot join until the problem is fixed.
A properly sized mountain bike with gears, two hand brakes and off-road tyres.
A fitted, undamaged helmet is required. Gloves, knee pads and elbow pads are optional.
Water, snacks, rain jacket and a spare tube. Full-day riders also bring lunch.
